Coach Derek is an experienced chess instructor with deep roots in the local youth chess community. Most recently, he brought the successful DIG Chess franchise to New Canaan and now leads the program at the New Canaan Field Club.
Derek has helped students of all ages and skill levels strengthen their chess fundamentals in a supportive, encouraging environment. He meets each student exactly where they are — whether that's just learning how the pieces move or preparing for competitive play.
